[UPDATE 7:09 PST]
Highway 2 closed at 20th st...
Cars in ditches everywhere...
Blue lights abound....
.
.
.
.BUT NO LAND CRUISER REQUIRED BECAUSE I MADE IT HOME!!!
I can’t believe I’m saying this... But thank God for this stupid “manual mode. ”
There was a long stretch from 87th Ave to highway 9, uphill. Speedo says zero miles per hour. Traction light flashing. Cars in ditch next to me, two other cars getting chains . But we CRAWLED up that motherfucker and made the long way to highway 2 and got back to Everett, at incredibly low speeds.
Fuck the CR-V that was tailgating me.
Fuck the Frontier that passed me on the shoulder, half a mile after someone else drove into the ditch.
And a thank you to the to Tundra that backed off when I threw on my flashers because I was going billions of miles per hour below the speed limit.
And long live the Paseo wagon!

It was 70 here today. I sat outside at a bar with my girlfriend today, it was quite pleasant.

What makes driving in intense snow even more dangerous? Texting. What is even more dangerous than that? Getting Kinja’d while driving in intense snow.
Stay safe!

Take it easy, leave a good following distance, be safe.

We got seven inches on Friday. I wimped out and worked from home because I didn't want to be doing that.

When in doubt throttle out.

It was like 1.5” of slush here. It’s just going to be a sheet of thick ice by the morning... Scary.
Luckily it stopped snowing over here. Hopefully it doesn’t start back up again, otherwise I will be working from home again.

Does the IS have snow mode in its ETCS? The GS does, but I’m probably not going to use it since I specifically bought the TL for the 2 times a year it snows here.

Yep, the SNOW button seems to hold revs longer is all, maybe it slows throttle but I doubt it? I used snow mode and manual mode to keep the gear lowwwww

Do you have winter tires on that wagon? . I have a set (had them about 5 winter’s they seem to last pretty well) mounted on some cheap steelies. The IS looks like a Corolla on the steelies with cheap hubcaps, but is a beastie in the snow. Snow mode sucks in mine, but traction control works well to keep all that power (lol) in check on the snowy corners. I drive it year round in Nebraska, no problems.

I do not have winter tires... Where'd you get the steelies off of?

Nothing in Bellevue yet, but I am hoping. Snow line appears to be around 522 so far.

It has been a long time, I lucked out and got a set off Craigslist for somewhere around 100 bucks. Bolt pattern and offset are pretty common, 5 x 114.3 mm I think, the wheels might have come from a Camry. My rest of the year wheels are 17"s, the steelies are 16" with a higher profile winter tire.

Clencher of a drive home, glad you made it! I almost wish we got more snow here in the Chicagoland area, only got just enough to do parking lot drifts
